FAQs
The Kanban Method
WHAT IS THE KANBAN METHOD?
It is a method to manage the change, design and improvement of professional services, through the introduction of certain practices that permit the visualisation and efficient management of the flow of work. It develops the adaptive capacity to better respond and adapt faster to the changes in the client needs and expectations.
EVOLUTIONARY CHANGE MANAGEMENT
The principles of change management are 1) Start with what you are doing now, thereby minimising resistance to change, understanding the processes that you are applying and respecting current roles, responsibilities and positions; 2) Agree on improvement through evolutionary change and 3) Foster leadership at all levels of the organization.
CULTURAL VALUES
The cultural values necessary to achieve the organisational capabilities required for agility are leadership, transparency, collaboration, understanding, balance, agreement, work flow and the balance between the demand and the capacity of the teams and people respecting one another.
REASONS TO ADOPT THE kanban METHOD
There are three recognized reasons for adopting the Kanbab Method: 1) Sustainability of the business, reducing work overload; 2) Customer orientation of services and 3) Business survival and development of resilience and competitiveness; leading the business strategy with leadership and positioning.
CLIENT-ORIENTATED SERVICES
Each organisation is a network of interdependent services with rules that determine how work is organised and which must be reviewed regularly. The services must be provided understanding and focusing on client needs and expectations, leaving the workers to organise themselves and take responsibility for the results.
GENERAL PRACTICES
The Kanban Method is based on the introduction of six Practices: 1) Visualize, 2) Limit of Work In Progress, 3) Manage Flow, 4) Make Policies Explicit, 5) Establish Feedback loops and 6) Improve Collaboratively and Evolve Experimentally
